Help to Buy Launches at West Cliff Mansions

Home ownership becomes a reality for more first-time buyers at popular Bournemouth scheme

First-time buyers, eager to purchase one of the new apartments at West Cliff Mansions in Bournemouth, have received a boost this month as they are now able to purchase with the assistance of the government-backed Help to Buy scheme. Would-be purchasers, keen to secure themselves a new home in this popular seaside town can now reserve at West Cliff Mansions with as little as a 5% deposit.*

West Cliff Mansions on Hahnemann Road, West Cliff, is a series of one, two and three-bedroom apartments being delivered by the Bournemouth Development Company (BDC), a strategic joint venture partnership between BCP Council and national urban regenerator, Muse Developments.

The Help to Buy scheme is available on selected plots at West Cliff Mansions (priced up to the cap of £349,000) and allows first-time buyers to own 100% of their home with just a 5% cent deposit and 75% mortgage. The remaining 20% is provided by the government as an interest-free loan for the first five years.

*Help to Buy is available on a limited number of homes only (up to the value of £349,000). Eligible applicants will be offered an equity loan up to a maximum of 20% of the purchase price (based on the open market value). Applicants are required to fund at least 80% of the purchase price by means of a conventional mortgage, savings and any deposit where required. For the first five years there is no fee charged on the equity loan component. At the start of year six a fee of 1.75% is payable on the equity loan, which rises annually by CPI inflation plus 2%.
